Dolphins toil on day one against the Lions

Durban - The Hollywoodbets Dolphins were made to work hard for their wickets on day one of their 4-Day Domestic Series clash with the Imperial Lions at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead with the visitors reaching 332 for three at the close.

The morning session was a tough one for the Dolphins despite starting well with the ball and keeping the Lions batsmen in check for the early part.

Daryn Dupavillon and Ottniel Baartman produced a good opening spell for the home side, however the Lions batters were up to task and despite the tight bowling didn't give their wickets away.

The Dolphins eventually got their first wicket when Dominic Hendricks was adjuded LBW off the bowling of Baartman for 15 with the total on 52.

The visitors went into the lunch break on 91 for one with Josh Richards and Reeza Hendricks at the wicket.

The post-lunch session belonged to the visitors with Richards and Hendricks batting well to push the Lions along at a good rate while the Dolphins bowlers put in their best efforts with the ball.

Richards was the second wicket to fall for 151 when he was also trapped in front by Baartman with the total on 310.

The Dolphins had more to celebrate just six runs later when Eathan Bosch picked up the wicket of Reeza Hendricks for 136.

At the end of the day the Lions finished on 332 for three heading into day two.
