The good Splashy Fen 2017 vibes
Day two promises Splashy Fen fans even more of the good sounds and the good vibes that have become synonymous with South Africa’s friendliest festival.

Underberg - With well over 3200 fans through the gates at the start of day two, the 2017 Splashy Fen Music Festival has stayed true to its promise of offering campers and day visitors a selection of musical entertainment and relaxing long-weekend activities for the whole family.

Thursday’s musical line-up got the crowd excited when The Subway Run’s lead singer Freddy Lalendle jumped on stage to join harmonies with Dijon Hoarea in an impromptu showcase of the type of talent present at this year’s Splashy Fen.

The threat of rain has not dampened spirits on day two as campers take early morning swims, get the blood pumping on the 4km trail run route along the scenic river banks and stretch it out at morning yoga at the new Treehouse stage. The Flying Fish River Stage opened at 10am where people could be seen frolicking in the icy waters while listening to the chilled out sounds of Jim Harrison Project, Opposite The Other, We Are Charlie and Calan Watts.

More of today’s line-up includes Nibs van der Spuy who opens the Black Label Main Stage at 4pm. Thereafter, global music sensation Michael Franit & Spearhead will take to the stage, followed by South African favourites, Jack Parow, Jeremy Loops and the Veranda Panda duo.

New to Splashy Fen this year is the very whimsical, already very popular Treehouse Stage. Supposedly decorated by fairies and woodland folk, this hub of hippiness offers early morning yoga sessions and Digeridoo workshops for those feeling the creative flair of Splashy Fen. From 12:15pm, great musical talent kicks off again with Jo Tomlinson, Devin Harmer, Roland Albertson, Shannon Connoly, Gavin Ferguson and World DJ who closes the stage at 6:15.

Tickets are available at www.splashyfen.co.za, the Underberg Country Club, or at the gate. Day rates are as follows: Thursday – R250, Friday – R350, Saturday – R450 and Sunday – R350. Children under 12 years pay R100. Day passes will be sold as full festival site price of R850 at the gates, and patrons leaving before 09h00 the next day will be given a refund based on the day that they attended.

The full festival line-up, venue map, accommodation options and tickets are all available at www.splashyfen.co.za.
