DAY TWO OF SPLASHY FEN PROMISES FUN FOR ALL

Well into day two of the iconic Splashy Fen Music Festival, and campers continue to enjoy the great sounds and great vibes of South Africa’s friendliest festival in the beautiful setting of the Southern Drakensberg.

Underberg -Thursday night brought with it an energy like no other. Fans congregated in the Acoustic Stage area to enjoy bon fires, hearty meals and a mélange of musical magic. There was an exhilarating performance by Maskandai band Isiqgisasekhaya, foot-stamping sing along tunes from FREDDY-L and some seriously great music from crowd-pleasers Crimson House.

Day Two dawned and Splashy Fenners were greeted to a blanket of cool cloud as they woke early, with the smell of fresh Marley coffee filling the campsites and the promise of a jam-packed festive day at Splashy Fen. At the time of this release, more than 5 1000 attendees had already made their way through the main gates, with more than 2 000 fans still expected to arrive.

The Corona River Stage opened on Friday at 10:30am, with the sounds of Jerry and the Bandits, Mali Zulu, Georgetown and Easyfreak. Lilos will be on sale throughout the festival for the ultimate river frolicking and giant zorb balls will provide entertainment in the form of a soccer ball tournament, where participants are the ball. It’s set to be a very festive few days.

The Budweiser Main Stage also opens on Friday with a star-studded line-up. Fans can catch Abaqgobi at 5pm, followed by Rubber DUC, Hot Water, Mango Groove and International act from Brazil, Napalma.

And for the real party campers, Ty Stoltz opens the Electric Boma at 7pm on Friday, followed by Knott, I Am Rogue, Ryan Murgatroyd, Bhaskhar and Royal Love.

Limited tickets are still available at www.splashyfen.co.za or at the Underberg Country Club. Day rates are as follows: Friday – R350, adult, R100 kids U12; Saturday – R450 adult, R100 kids U12 and Sunday – R350 adult, R100 kids U12. Day passes will be sold at the full festival price of R850 at the gates and patrons leaving before 09h00 the next day will be given a refund based on the day that they attended.
